SUSTAINABILITY

Mineral SpringsPURE SPRING WATER
Our Village of Wallingford sits on a huge underground lake of water that stretches 14 miles from the town of Clarendon to our north down the valley to Dorset to our south. Artesian mineral springs are abundant all over the village and our spring is the largest with an astounding flow of 200 gallons a minute. Each of our rentals shares this spring which is tested by the state of Vermont every 6 months for purity. For centuries, people from all over America made pilgrimages to Vermont to “partake in the healing waters” of our state. Historic hotels in Vermont like the Woodstock Inn, Equinox Hotel and even the Wallingford House in our town were originally mineral spring hotels bustling with summer visitors.

Solar PanelsELECTRICITY FROM THE SUN AND WATER
Our main building boasts 86 electric solar panels powering our showroom and offices. Power for our rental houses comes from water generated hydro projects in neighboring Quebec, Canada. Vermont leads the nation in solar jobs and projects per capita in the United States. Our houses all feature ultra-super energy efficient lighting and appliances.

Organic EggsAVAILABLE ORGANIC LOCALLY GROWN FOOD
In addition to the Rutland farmers market every Saturday morning, we also have our own micro-farm just down the street from our houses. Fresh eggs and vegetables are available for purchases when in season.
